A shotgun is an all purpose gun. The same gun will work for game as small as quail to as big as a whitetail deer. Just use the right kind of shell. If you have a 12 or 20 gauge, very light shot won't damage something as tiny as quail as long as you aren't at point blank range, heavier shot will easily take down the largest turkey, and a slug will KO a trophy buck.
