05/09/2008 | Essentially a sort of catchy early 70's fusion of r&b, jazz, and rock with a good rythym- some nice bass and drums. Terry Kath was one of the very few white singers who I originally thought was black. It's too bad that a guy who was a very good guitarist ( Hendrix once claimed Kath was better than he was, Kath wasn't of course, but Hendrix was a humble guy who never bragged about himself and always turned questions about his ability around to focus on others who impressed him) and who possessed a soulful growl like that had talent was progressively minimized as this act got bigger and bigger and lamer and lamer. Their third album sold a lot of records, but didn't provide them with a lot of big hits, though this made the top 20. Used in a car commercial recently.
