Maybe not a Hall of Famer, but still great. I really dug his wind up! He was a very intimidating hard throwing pitcher during his time.

He may not have been the greatest pitcher to ever toe the rubber for the Red Sox, but he may well have been the most fun. He had the most unique windup in baseball at the time, one that more recent fans have seen signs of in Hideo Nomo.He delivered a range of pitches, from a range of motions, and from dozens of arm angles, and when he was on he was all but unhittable. I met him some years ago, and he's hilarious. Witty, sardonic and if his audience is appropriate, hilariously crude. According to legend, he was known as something of a practical joker in the clubhouse, fond of welcoming rookies with a "Tiant Dog" which was composed of a hot dog bun, some mustard, and El Tiante's johnson, which apparently hung out both ends of the bun. Obviously, I can't swear to the truth of the legend, but its the kind of story that should be true.
