Galaxy class hitter, and a universe class head case, Ramirez plays left field the way a Silverback Gorilla might play a harpsichorde.
A pretty good arm, when he remembers how many are out, or throws to the right base, but can turn routine outs into doubles without difficulty. Very close to Ron Kittle, Greg Luzinski class as a defensive horror show. Some fielders make every play an adventure, Ramirez makes them into thrill rides without seat belts.
At the plate, however, it is evident how hard he works at this part of the game. A very, very tough out, perhaps the toughest I've seen in 20 years, and as dangerous behind 0-2 in the count as up 3-1.
