crist wouldn't be a terrible candidate, he's a solid campaigner and will work hard for the ticket. however, i believe that mccain can win florida without him there. i also believe that he needs someone with more national experience on the ticket. he hasn't been governor long enough to establish much of a record here in the state. he's done some good things, but i don't think he's ready to be a heartbeat from the presidency.

Definitely one of those on the short list. A popular (I wonder what that is) and quite competent (ditto) governor. If it is believed by the McCain machinery that he can deliver Florida's electoral votes, he'll likely get the nod. VoteForPrinciple is probably right but most republicans, particularly conservatives, are voting against Obama rather than voting for McCain. The razor thin, precarious balance on the Supreme Court overrides all priciples and expectations except a very, very few.

Governor Crist is a RINO. We need a VP that cares about values. Crist is not the answer.

Underrated repub. choice. Will get redneck aw-shucks states and be presented as a solid candidate based on "values". . .he's not too old or young for the position and doesn't have any serious negative qualities (at least none that I've heard). . .Keep an eye on him.
