You've got to be kidding.  Self-hating negro.  Second-rate football jock who parlayed his pointless earlier life into an equally inconsequential coast in the U.S. Congress.  A turd that floated to the surface.  Seems that when he was taking up space in the House of Representatives, he didn't get his way on a wasteful pork barrell waste of the taxpayers' money in his district, so, be upped and went home.  Good.

Not a bad pick but it won't happen.  Watts isn't a bad guy although I don't agree with all of his political philosophy, but he would go a long way towards bridging the gap between the GOP and African-American voters.  The biggest obstacle would be PR- a Watts VP choice would be seen as simply a racial response to Obama - and you want to lead in these PR tactics, not follow.

I would love to see it, but I don't think it will happen. At least not this year. Watts has said he has no desire to go back into public service, and it doesn't come off as the usual "No I'm not interested but I really am" type of rhetoric. Maybe he'll change his mind down the road, but for now I think he's content being a private citizen.

Would be an intriguing choice and one that I can see McCain making under certain circumstances, but I don't think its likely. Watts probably doesn't want the job, and his verbal bitch-slapping of all the 2008 GOP presidential candidates, including McCain, can't have improved his chances. "Republicans want to say we reach out. But what we do instead is 60 days before an election, we'll spend some money on black radio and TV or buy an ad in Ebony and Jet, and that's our outreach. People read through that."
