While it does not have the same shattering impact as Auschwitz-Birkenau, the memorial at KZ-Gedenkstätte Dachau is extremely moving. The lietmotif of the memorial, which comprises in large part, the original concentration camp, is the so-called "Path of the Prisoners" in which visitors to the memorial traverse the site in the same order that inmates condemned to the place would have suffered.
The effect is very powerful, and not a little disturbing.
