The 3rd in the "Blind Dead" series, and it has...not surprisingly...a ridiculous script and idiotic characters, but the skeletal Knights Templar remain incredibly spooky, and make this an enjoyable entry in spite of its flaws and weaknesses. In this film, the zombies inhabit a spooky "Flying Dutchman"-type vessel, coming alive at night and emerging like ghostly, coweled wraiths from the hold of the crumbling ship to drink the blood and munch upon the flesh of enticing, bikini-clad models who improbably, even absurdly, stumble upon them. Spanish horror movie regular and American expatriate Jack Taylor is on hand...not that he does anything to elevate the proceedings...but the true "stars" of the show, as always, are the Knights, who remain some of the creepiest figures I've ever seen in 70's horror cinema...or 80's horror cinema, for that matter. None of these films are classics (probably the best one is the 2nd entry, and that isn't saying too much), but for atmosphere and shivery horror-movie chills, these films can be worth their weight in (fool's) gold and should be sought out by the true horror enthusiast. Nothing too taxing for the mind or spirit, but plenty of good, ghoulish fun.
