The other day when I looked my son square in the eye to ask him a question I accidentally used the dog's name. It happens. Only an idiot would equate a goof-up like that with unsuitability for high office.

This is funny, but he is just human, and has a right to make mistakes. There so many other reasons, much heavier than that not to vote for Obama.

When you're sleep deprived and stressed out from being under the unforgiving glare of the media microscope for several months, I think the occasional verbal flub is excusable.

It easy to write Obama's mis-speaking about 57 states off to fatigue. It probably was. Many of the more famous gaffes of politicians can be similarly explained, including Bush's and Quayles. That being said, in a modern campaign world, candidates cannot afford a moment of weakness, exhaustion or inattention. And their staff is supposed to recognize the signs and take whatever steps necessary to prevent them. Its not a good reason to vote against him. But it is a reason to have some doubts about his staff, which raises further questions, at least to someone with my background.

He better learn how many states are in the Union! It could be useful later on when he's tabulating how many electoral votes he won for the Presidency!

I have seen this guy speak and have been to his rallies. I don't get it. About every speech he makes, he makes some kid of gaffe. I don't think he is the brighest star in the firmament.

Hmm, looks like this time he was making a joke. I'll be happy to explain it -- he was exaggerating the number of states he visited to accentuate the point of his traveling so much over the last 15 months.

If he really doesn't know how many states there are in the USA, then I'm definitely against that!

Is it a coincidence that there are 57 recognized Islamic States or does he just not know how many states are in the U.S.? Kinda makes you wonder what his mind is on huh? Dan Quayle got made fun of for years for misspelling potato and Obama pretty much got a free pass on this one!
