HA! He is on the most Liberal side of Republicans, my friends. Once in my life, and I am somewhat ashamed to admit it ~ I voted for a Democrat (state election, never Presidential), but the candidate was more worthy. Thanks Mr. Kwame Kilpatrick (haha)!

You should vote for the person most qualified for the job. I have voted for Democrats and Republicans based on their qualifications. In this case, I am voting for McCain because he is clearly more qualified than Obama who never gives any specifics. Obama is a much better speak and motivator, but I prefer style over substance.

That's not stopping that rumored quarter of Hillary supporters that they say will vote for him...

Finally! A sensible topic.

Which means he's not a Democrat.

...which means he's not a Democrat.

On the one hand, its a totally invalid reason to vote against him. Viewed objectively, which I'm aware many self-appointed pundits have trouble doing, the Democrats and Republicans are more similar than dis-similar.
However, it is a proven truism that most winning political parties don't get elected, their opponents get defeated. There is a growing mood to punish the GOP for the economy, the war, and the last eight years, and I doubt McCain can stem that tide.

I understand there are many people who will vote this way, but I am not a fan of political parties in this country. I'll vote for the best person in my opinion, and not who any party tells me to support.

With all due respect, I could care less whether John McCain happens to be a Republican or a Democrat. I want the best competent man (or woman) to occupy the Oval Office during times of crisis. Not voting for McCain simply because he is part of the Republican Party does not make any sense (in my honest opinion). Rather, not voting for McCain because he demonstrates incompetence is a far more valid reason.

Hasn't the Republican party done enough damage running the executive branch over the last eight years? I think so, and I'm confident most voters agree with me.

And is that a crime? He is a human being, he is an American, and because he is not looking forward to set the stage for long term political life, he is more objective and realistic than other candidates.

Normally I would say this is a terrible reason to not vote for somebody. However, part of me feels like a functioning democracy such as ours needs to punish political parties that abuse, overreach, and mismanage the offices that we give them. The small government side of me certainly feels betrayed enough by this president and this party to want them to feel pain.
