Au contraire....the intellectuals were the good ones. I lived between two villages...one welcomed me with open arms and the other never gave me a chance.

Experiencing a French Intellectual snob in full flight, is like being a cat duct-taped to pylon at the side of the freeway. You know its only a matter of time before you get crushed. Insufferably arrogant, impossible to pin down, impervious to logic, and relentlessly verbose.
