The Scottish snob is marked by two particular characteristics: extreme arrogance and the inability to ever admit a mistake; a legacy of Calvinism, perhaps? Not the best of snobs, but far from the worst. Tends to gravitate towards scholarship or politics. Examples include: Gordon Brown, John McCain, Niall Ferguson.
