05/22/2008 | Too diverse to easily generalize, these run the gamut from entertaining drunks to poisonous quasi-intellectuals.
The scornful "art student" type is pretty annoying, with supercilious sniffs at any attempt by anyone to express an opinion about a painting that doesn't include words like "Manichaean" "exegesis" and "transmogrification" in every sentence.
The "Theatre People" can be an annoyingly affected pack of snide gossips.
Other than that, the rest are pretty tolerable.

05/22/2008 | A mixed bag. The worst are the bitter, failed would-be artists with a chip on their shoulder. The poseurs can be pretty obnoxious as well. Most of the breed are pleasant and entertaining parasites, generally living off the earnings of their spouse while waiting for their career to 'take off' (which it rarely does). Not a bad lot, overall, provided you keep away from the more annoying ones (poets, 'performance artists', folk musicians and anyone having anything to do with 'the theatre').

05/20/2008 | Underrated. I've tried to bed my share of female art snobs in college with mixed results. True story- CS wanted to woo a sexy art-snob harlot and accompanied her to a 'modern art' exhibition. . .I was looking at metallic cow shite (?) when she asked me 'what I thought.' (I thought the proper answer to improve my chances.) "I don't like it." She actually sighed at my un-snob comment and said, "You're not suppOSED to like it." Didn't work out. . .
