the first without Peter Green. There were still some blues/ blues rock
songs on this, but more ballads and country rock. The song is pretty
much a tribute song made out of lines from Buddy Holly songs that the
band rather generously credited to Buddy Holly's mother who received
the royalties for it. It's merely fair overall, but guitarist/ vocalist Jeremy
Spencer, an Elmore James fanatic on their early albums, was also a good
mimic who could imitate Holly, Presley, and blues performers quite well
on certain songs.
