Neoconservative Snobs 4

  While their policies have been a disaster, the Neo-Cons have displayed a peculiar snobbery that raise them far and above any rival American intellectual snobs.  American intellectuals are generally dull professors and hack journalists, whose main concern is fitting in; the best way of fitting, of course, is to say nothing of substance, or just what everyone else is saying.  The Neo-Conservatives, in contrast, have perfected an impressively orginal and snobbish (if lunatic) intellectual discourse.  A simplified Neo-Con cathecism might go something like this:

"Respect the common people and their beliefs, though know they are nothing more than Shadows on the Cave Wall; respect the merchant, who funds our think tanks and magazines; though know that he is not one of us, he is not even a gentleman; respect the Warlord, who made us his courtiers, but know that he failed us, that he is nothing but a fool, and another Warlord is on his way..."

A simpler version would be George Orwell's:

"War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Strength"
