The other day I opened up my dryer once I thought my clothes were done, and instead Ridgewalker came tumbling out singing "If you want to be a Bird" by The Holy Modal Rounders...In all seriousness, the soundtrack features top notch tunes like Steppenwolf's "The Pusher," The Jimi Hendrix Experience's "If 6 Was 9," and The Byrds' glorious " I Wasn't Born to Follow." A couple of so- so things like Smith's mediocre version of The Band's  classic"The Weight", but great stuff for the most part. 4.5

I bought a copy of this a few months back.

I hadn't watched it in some time, and I wasn't surprised to see that it hadn't aged particularly well, although not as badly as I expected.

The soundtrack is a big part of that, in my opinion. Well chosen, fitting the action, and timeless to the period.
