After reading Mr. Pie's review on this topic, I congratulate him on restraining his bitterness. I suggest, that if he moves to North America, there's a team here that he can transfer his hatred to.

This is completely valid. Manchester United's 2-0 victory over Chelsea, their main title rivals is the prime example of how they have ridden their luck all season.
Stroke of luck 1: they face their main title rivals at their very weakest, as they have just lost their most successful and iconic manager in their history: Jose Mourinho under dubious circumstances
Stroke of luck 2: Manchester United have a full squad available. Chelsea have the three players widely regarded as their best (Didier Drogba, Ricardo Carvalho and Frank Lampard) out with long-term injuries.
Stroke of luck 3: After 32 minutes, Chelsea lose their midfield backbone, Jon Obi Mikel to a ridiculous red card, disrupting any flow or rhythm they had mustered up until then.
Stroke of luck 4: Manchester United score their first goal two minutes out of time (after the half-time whistle should have been blown) at the end of the first half. The referee doesn't bat an eyebrow.
Stroke of luck 5: Manchester United are somehow awarded a last-minute penalty following a perfectly legal Tal Ben Haim tackle on Louis Saha, interrupting a spell of Chelsea domination.
The referee was seen with a red scarf after the game...
