If you listen to a lot of Dylan it becomes clear that he frequently uses "rain" as a metaphor for violence or violent change. This is no exception

A stark, unsettling song, perfectly suited to Dylan's sneering voice.

An early glimpse at the Dylan's transition from folk singer troubador to poet, this collection of questions and images harken coming dark times. Originally reported to be a collection of apocalyptic visions that Dylan had during the 13 days of the Cuban Missle crisis, history reveals that he had actually performed it before October of 1962.
