A long career as an actor and director. The film that springs to mind is "Tootsie". Check him out on IMDB you may be surprised at how many great films he was involved with. RIP Mr. Pollack.

One of the last  men in Hollywood who thought that story telling was more important than things blowing up or realistic looking giant lizards.  Movies will suffer from his departure.

I knew of Pollack in name only. He was before my time, and I'm not really a film nerd. So I have no connection to any of his work.
