No, this was Travolta's masterwork. With the possible exception of Halle Barry in Catwoman, this is arguably the worst acting in the worst movie based on the worst novel ever written (the science-fiction novel/Bible/Koran/Holy Scriptures of cult leader L. Ron Hubbard).
Travolta will never be forgotten, but Battlefield Earth has gained him an immortal place not in the history of cinema, but as one of Hubbard's Archangels in Scientology Heaven (with Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman and the Psychlon Cherubim).
