I am only 24 and I was still subjected to growing up with this programming. I'm sorry even as a kid I hated the show.

Great stuff and, I can attest to the fact that these animated shorts are still used in schools today.  Schoolhouse Rock seems to mark the beginning of the idea that learning can be fun - and fun, to a certain degree, can lead to retention.  It would appear that the creators of this series seemed to know what they were doing in that regard too - I mean, think of the people you know who still know the words to Conjunction Junction.
