He was groovy to me! My Grandpa was a bit of a racist,and always bet me some bucks he'd lose. I won every time.He made a boxing fan out of me.He was colorful,I think he was the best "rapper" before we ever heard of rap."Rope a Dope" !!!!

He was one of the best fighters that ever lived. He also had the biggest mouth, and ego, and I didnt care for his over all personality. Even if it was the civil rights era, I didnt think he had much class.

I know he’s supposed to be a national hero of mythic proportions but, sorry, I never really got the appeal. Watching him posturing around blowing off as I was growing up, all I saw was a conceited braggart who beat people up for a living yet claimed to be a pacifist. Viet Nam sucked on many levels and I’ll be the first to say that black soldiers got the gooey brown end of the stick when it came to certain aspects of it. Still, all things considered, I fail to see anything all that amazing or unique in this guy.
