3.5 seems about right to me. Magee was a very solid all around deadball era player who primarily played for the Phillies. He led the league in RBI's four times, in average once, was a fine fielder, stole over 400 bases, and he regularly was up there in various hitting categories. Magee's numbers might seem paltry to some fans today, but in the context of the time, they were very impressive. Some have even made the argument that Magee should be in the Hall of Fame. Magee also played for the Braves and Reds.
