03/12/2006 | I started on my Tom and Jerry with the Spotlight dvd collection was worth the money I brought it from the store ! I have not drawin any inspiration on a carttoon yet as an adult ! Tom and Jerry spotlight collection was testing out to see if works and it was clear !

06/09/2004 | I love them .. although some people think that .. its quite dangerous for kids to watch them .. but gemme a break how can a cat gets reformed after being divided in thousands of peices ! tom and jerry really made us adore the classic orcistra music and even when we listen to one of those peices we actually relate them to an episode !
The tom and jerry kids really sux ..

06/08/2004 | Hilarious. I love Tom and Jerry! I use to watch this as a child in the 80's and in the year 2004 at 25 I still love this cartoon. It's so much fun, dangerous, but fun. It'll never loose its edge.

The gags, like in most cartoons, may be kind of predictable and silly, but the animators always had a terrific sense of timing that made the slapstick funnier. But I also have to agree with ThePatriotfan- Jerry was always starting trouble with Tom just to annoy him and get him in trouble, making him a lot less sympathetic. I'm usually on Tom's side. The later Chuck Jones-directed T&J cartoons may have kinda screwed with the original nature of the characters, but they're still funny and I don't think it did much damage.

09/23/2003 | This rating is based strictly on the merits of the pre-1950s cartoons. When Chuck Jones moved in, things went all to hell. Thank you, Chuck, for inventing a style that allowed all cartoons to be cheaply and simply animated, resulting in very little besides trash and schlock for decades afterward, which in turn led to the inescapable idea that cartoons were for children. Thank you ever so much.

06/24/2003 |  The cartoons up to the late 40s / very early 50s were masterpieces. Really fantastic animation. I loved Spike, Droopy, and the all-time classic episode with the country bumpkin and his slick city cousin in the night club - that's one of the all-time greatest cartoons and it was also produced by the teamthat made T&J. Tom & Jerry were great. I loved the voices, the violence, the adult themes, the blatant racism with the black lady of the house (long since edited out, but was clearly evident when I was growing up), Tom's devilish streak, Tom's tongue sticking out of his mouth...there were even tender moments, like Tom's love woes, the deluded duck that offers himself to Tom as food because he thinks Tom's his mom, the explosive white mouse that escaped from the lab, Tom and his cowardly cousin spooking Jerry, Jerry's cousin Muscles, Tom forced to keep the house clean or else, Tom harassing Spike after the leash law goes into effect...is you is or is you ain't my baby, and Jerry's country-singing relative who always needs a guitar string...did I mention I love this cartoon?
