She'll certainly remain a senator. As a resident of NY, I can reveal to you that her track record of rhetoric has been awesome. Her assistance from the liberal NY media, in every upstate city as well, has been unwavering . . . until Obama ran against her for president. Her record of verifiable accomplishments is short, almost non-existent, particularly upstate, which she promised 8 years ago, would be among her highest priorities.
Industries (and with them, jobs) are fleeing the highest taxes in the country, dilapidated infrastructure, excessively high property taxes caused by unfunded state mandates to fund expensive, liberal programs embedded in New York's government, through little fault of Hillary's. Ironically, we pay among the highest electric rates in the country, even though we produce enough electricity to supply several other states. This is identical to the situation 8 years ago, and 20 years ago. But, she is bound to re-establish herself as a media darling and there are rumors she is eyeing the office of governor, which today might better be vacant than occupied by Gov. David Patterson, who took over when Eliot Spitzer resigned in disgrace.

This is what she will likely do. Look for her to start rising in the Senate leadership. Some believe that she is next in line to be Senate Majority Leader after Harry Reid. Time will tell.

I recently spent some time in New York visiting relatives. They think she's done a pretty good job so far. I had two choices, agree with them... or disagree and forget about any chance of getting a second helping of pasta.

I think this would be the option for her. She might not have many friends in the Senate right now, but she could redeem herself by becoming a good legislator and advocate for her constituents.

Yes, this is the best for her to do, if she wishes to remain on the political map. She has enough experience and influence to do her job better than an average representative.

If she's smart and doesn't allow her ego to get in the way, this is what she will do. With Sen. Kennedy ill, Hillary has a grand opportunity to step into the role of great influence. She needs to take advantage of this and stay in the Senate for many more years. Only one other position on this list could give her greater esteem and influence.

She finishes her term at the very least, unless she gets appointed to Cabinet. I suspect at least one book will be appearing within the next 12 months.
