I'll catch some grief for a statement I made in the Nike Air Shox post I'm sure so let me clear my throat. (That was a Beastie Boys quote in case you didn't catch it) Ok Nike is made out of states but all the top elite athletes run in them as did I and do I for a reason. They are the best. I understand people being pro new balance for only two reasons. They make thier shoes in the USA and they have sizes for wide feet. Other than that they suck. Flat out bulbous heavy weight contender shoes maybe but not for the elite runner's or serious athlete. Sorry vote against me if you may but what the heck are two new balance (notice how I didn't capitalize them even)doing in the top two. I'm obviously over reacting but common we're comparing Porsches to Pintos for the love of Jesus, Joseph and Mary. Yes I'm even bringing in biblical people into this one ;)

Very sturdy with great tread, you'll get some life out of them. Good for cross country trails but they're heavy and not super comfortable.

In case anyone cared about these things, I went into a sport store and asked the guy, out of hundreds of pairs of shoes, which ones weren't sweatshop? Out of an entire wall in a superstore, New Balance was the only brand "assembled in America from foreign materials". So, half-sweat-shop, but more fair than any other shoe company. That gets my vote. Oh yeah, and mine are comfortable too. Did anyone complaining about fitting notice that they have 2 width sizes, for narrow AND wide feet?

Maybe they are suitable for the casual runner, but I tried them for one season of cross country, and they weren't the best shoesI have ever worn.

I like the brand New Balance in general because the shoe is very sturdy (not falling apart within a month like Nike) and they give great support to your feet. They are kind of too expensive ranging in the $125 range but I guess it's because the 702's have such an intrict design. They were not kidding when they said all terrain.

You feel very good in these shoes. You get a good fit with them on and they look cool too.

Excellent running shoes! Whether you are an avid runner, or a weekend warrior, you will be pleased with the comfort and style of the New Balance 702s. The arch support can't be beat, and these shoes adapt to any foot type (narrow/wide). The durability and comfort alone were the selling points for me. New Balance achieves the ultimate accomplishment in a running shoe for me..the comfort and support necessary with the feel that I am not weighed down by my shoe.

Before I moved into the city, I used to do a lot of trail running. I also cared a lot more about having cool looking shoes. That said, I bought New Balance 702's that fit both of my concerns. Well, we didn't work together. The shoes looked cool and I wore them for a long time, they worked well on trails, they lasted a long time, but they were horrible on my feet. They were too wide for my feet so I didnt' have the support I needed. They were short fat shoes. My toes would constantly jam when I would run down hill since my foot wasn't supported. I just should have bought shoes that fit me better. They would be great for someone with wide feet. I still think they look cool.

The shoe has lots of style but too bad they are uncomfortable as hell and everyone that has ever worn them is full of blisters. Not to mention that the shoe is horrid for running and causes irregular arches to start.

I think New Balance are good for running. I have had a couple of pairs and they were very good! I would tell others to buy their stuff.

These are classic- not the most stylish sneakers but really good especially for those with narrow feet and high arches. They are very supportive.

New Balance 702's have been one of the more sturdy, well made pairs of shoes in my closet. They have been just about everywhere and still look practically new. The 702's also have good arch support so people with high arches would find them more than comfortable than other name brands.

The shoe has a great amount of cushioning. It takes a lot of pressure off of my knees which allows me to run for longer periods of time. The shoe however is a tad too narrow. After many uses though I broke the shoe in. A solid 3.

New Balance shoes are excellent running shoes. They have very good arch support. NB shoes help protect my knees more than other running shoes. I can only run with NB shoes. I especially like the 702's too.

My doctor recommended these shoes after I complained of shin splints. I tried to use them for running, but I felt like I had wooden boards attached to my feet. They gave me all the support I needed, but I had to find a different shoe because my feet were in pain by the end of my runs.

In my opinion, the New Balance 702's are one of the most comfotable shoes on the market. Not only is it a great running shoe, but it is good for everyday use. I also think the colors can match any type of outfits. I wear these shoes every day.

New Balance have come a long way with me. New Balance have been on the market since Nike and Adidas. New Balance still remains to produce top notch running shoes, and New Balance only produces running shoes which I feel has kept them at the status of one of the top ten running shoes. I personally believe that sticking to the script is the key to their success, and is the reason why New Balance remains a tycoon in the shoe industry.

I noticed that the padding underneath the removeable sole is not very soft or comfortable. The shoe is also heavy. The laces that came with the shoe aren't that durable.

These are great shoes because of their durability and comfort. I wore these shoes all summer long at a job where I was on my feet all day long, and they totally made the difference. Also, they offer good support while jogging.

I love these shoes. They are comfortable and made for wide feet. They last a long time too. Good arch support and the laces aren't too long. I like that these shoes don't show dirt like the white New Balance.

Good and durable trail shoe. Good look and fits well if you have wide feet. The sole is flatter than normal shoes, but it depends on the persons foot. The price is good, and better than expensive or flashy shoes, but a lesser quality than Nikes.

Excellent running shoes with good cushioning. No blistering, no scratching, and no uncomfortable edgings. The shoe laces do not untie easily, and your feet don't get hot while runnig. Good tread, and lightweight.

When shoes start getting played out and you see everybody with them, you know that they are doing something right. Very stylish and functional too.

I like these shoes a lot. However, I would not consider them to be the best running shoes. They are very comfortable and offer a lot of support, but they don't seem like they're for running.

I don't like the black tip. It looks like an alligator, and makes the foot too long.

This shoe provides a good fit and a hot look which makes this shoe pricey, but a sexy shoe. Great for casual parties and trips to the mall.

The New Balance 702, I actually loved this shoe. It had a smooth ride. The fit was comfortable. I think it is good for medium distance road runs. Also, it has a lot of stability. These were my first running shoes, and it has continued to improve over the years. Also, it gets better with wear. This shoe doesn't take long to break in. Beware:the shoe laces are really long...

They make great shoes. They are also comfortable. They are a little steep price wise. It's a break away from Nike whih are way too much money anyways. The designs are awesome.

This is one of the best shoes I ever bought. Most of the colors I've seen were grey and thats perfect because it doesn't show the dirt. It matches with all my clothes and last long. Its perfect for hiking and running.
