This far down the list? I guess there's some truth to it. I can't compare Canadians in the friendliness department when compared to most of the people from South America or Asia, but you do get to meet people with all degress of friendliness depending on their backgrounds and regions. I would rate Calgary as a pretty friendly place 20 years ago but not so much anymore because now it's very populated by people from the Eastern provinces such as Ontario and Quebec. In general though, Canadians are very friendly on the surface but I won't count on them offering you their accomodations. We are definitely lacking on the hospitality department.

Depends a lot on where they're from. Atlantic Canadians are pretty friendly, as are those from the prairie provinces, although they tend to be somewhat reserved. Quebecois are a bit of a crapshoot, running the gamut from friendly to surly, as do folks from northern Ontario. Torontonians are arrogant, aloof twits. Non-Vancouver British Columbians are all over the map as regards friendliness, while Vancouverites tend to a certain entitled aloofness.
