Some time ago a reviewer gave me about 11,000 helpfuls in the course of about three weeks. Some time thereafter, they self deleted, and the helpfuls went away.

That was no big deal.

Neither is this.

Like a lot of people on the "Top 100" list, I've been accused of cheating or mulitple accounts from time to time. I know the truth of that accusation about me, and so do the admins at RIA. And like most people who have had this (or something like this) happen we don't turn it into a 24/7 self-pity party.

On the plus side, however, the issue seems to be keeping at least one reviewer occupied.

Modern day mystery which, of course has a logical explanation, but those who have the answer will keep it for themselves, rather than being embarrassed publicly for manipulating the ratings. The trail of suspicion regarding potential past similar actions would permanently damage their credibility. So, even as the answer is easy, it may never be revealed because of appearances. P.S. I have no doubt magellan knows and will NOT disclose the truth. Update: I was partially wrong. Automatt made an effort to explain it, but his irresponsible action was quickly deleted before exposing any further potential evidence of manipulation. And, by the way, the perps seem to come out "en masse", LOL.

Someone roust Leonard Nimoy from his bed. We've got a hell of a reason to bring back In Search Of.

This topic is ridiculous, it degrades the integrity of the list.

This is as mysterious as 'Why was "The Great Race, Peoria", cancelled' and shouldn't occupy more than 3 brain cells as it is sooooooooo far from any kind of record around here. Small potatoes..

Personally, I suspect the workings of a polygamist sect.

Pretty low grade if you ask me. The numbah fan club bestowed about 4000 helpfuls on me one day in the ridiculous helpfuls war between numbah and git fans that made us almost untouchable on the HOF page. People manipulate the ratings sometimes. Its a rather dull topic if you ask me...
