As far as stats, Walker did a little better than Giddens, and Giddens never really played. Walker came off the bench sometimes, but neither had much of an impact on the team.

Update: I'm downgrading the Celtics draft because Giddens and Walker didn't do much during their rookie years. I'm not sure the Celtics could have done much better, because there aren't many players drafted later who performed well. It would have also been tough for any rookies to break into the lineup of the defending champs.

6/27/2008 - **** The Celtics are NBA Champions and have the luxury of not needing to improve much this offseason. JR Giddens is a talented player who has issues with his attitude. He is a good pick for Boston because they won't feel forced to find him PT. Hopefully for Boston he can learn from the leaders in front of him, and can step up in a few years to become a good pro. They also picked up Bill Walker out of K-State in a trade with the Wizards. Walker might never be an NBA starter, but I think he is the athletic and energetic type of player that will do well coming off of the bench.
