Update: Although Beasley was only a part-time starter last season, he still put up pretty good numbers. I would have liked to have seen him rebound more, but altogether he played well for a 20 year old in the NBA. If Beasley wasn't enough of a success, the Heat got a great steal in Mario Chalmers in the 2nd round. He averaged 10 points and 5 assists and started every game for Miami. At this early point the Heat have to be the winners of the 2008 NBA draft. 6/26/2008 - Michael Beasley looks like a no doubt star in the NBA. His numbers were better than Kevin Durant's were coming out of college, and Beasley's game is likely to transition better to the NBA. He will be a starter from day one, and very quickly will become an All Star. In the second round the Heat acquired two Kansas Jayhawks. Chalmers is a gamer who should stick with the team and provide some quality backcourt depth. The Heat probably won't be down for long with Beasley coming down to Miami.
