New Jersey Nets 5

Update: The Nets had a great draft last year. Brook Lopez played every game and looked like a legit big man, averaging 13 points and 8 rebounds. Ryan Anderson was also a good contributor in his rookie year, but will be off to Orlando next season. CDR played in just half of the Nets' games, but held his own.

6/27/2008 - Brook Lopez was rated as the top center in the draft, and since the Nets need help in the post, this was a good selection. Ryan Anderson was a great scorer at California and almost averaged a double double his sophomore season. He is a big guy who will be able to get his shot off. He should hopefully provide the Nets with some much needed 3 point shooting help. Their 2nd round pick was Chris Douglas Roberts, who was the biggest steal in the draft. He was one of the two best players on the best team in the NCAA this past season, and he has a game that should translate well to the NBA. Why he fell so far is beyond me. With Richard Jefferson and Vince Carter ahead of him, he won't be forced to do too much too soon for the Nets. New Jersey got great talent for a team that was definitely in need of it.
