New York Knicks 5

Update: Gallinari had injury troubles in his rookie year and didn't play much. His numbers weren't huge, but he at least shot well. I won't downgrade this rating until I see more of him.

6/29/2008 - New York only had one pick and at #6 took Danilo Gallinari. He seems to be a very good prospect coming over from Europe. He will be 20 when the season starts, but he has already played pro ball at different levels since 2004. He put up good numbers in Italy, and appears to be a good shooter and athlete. His ability to run, attack the rim, and shoot jumpers seems to be a good fit for Mike D'Antoni's European-style system. He might not be a star at first, but he seems to be a player that will be a legit star in a few years. Hopefully for him the Knicks will be able to transform their team into something more respectable than what it has become lately.
