It was a great moment for Spain, during every match from our national team all people was expectating for the results, and nobody could believe that we were winning all those matchs. When we arrived to the final, it was like a dream, it seemed impossible to win but... this time Spain won. People (spanish people first) have other favorites, nobody really thought we could win so... that's why I give 5 stars, they show us that we really could win and we really have a good national team.

This was significant in my world, and I'm not even a huge soccer fan. The World Cup is a great event, and the Euro Cup is the next best in the world of soccer. It was a great tournament with amazing games, and the final lived up to expectations.

Outside of North America this is more like 5 stars, but I'll give a nod to the nation hosting RIA and make it 3.

Spain hadn't won a major championship in 44 years, and were classic underachievers for most of that time.

In Euro 2008, they not only bested Italy, their long time nemesis in the semi-final, but scored early and hung on to beat a favored German team for the championship.
