These are my shoes. Incredibly durable, reliable, and comfortable, these boots are great. The downside is their weight. Beyond that, full leather (one piece) upper goretex sock and gripping treads all make this boot my favorite.

These boots offer good support and strength. However, the boot laces are weaker than most brands. The laces will have to be replaced two or three times before replacing the boot.

These hiking boots are one of the most difficult, subjective purchases a backpacker could make. Although incredibly durable, I hate these boots because they give me blisters. These aren't good for long and narrow feet.

If you like high-top leather hiking boots and don't mind spending money, this is the boot to buy.

Too expensive. Stiff, hot, not waterproof, and my toes wear through while on rocky terrain. The only reason so many people buy these is because the National Park service regards this model as part of the uniform.

The price was pretty good. The quality was a bit lower than the Raichle Forester, but not by much. It was a very comfortable boot, and I went hiking with it in Nepal for three weeks and was very satisfied with it.

This is an excellent boot no question. All leather (made from just three pieces) double stitched and vibram soles. Good stiff arch support perfect for backcountry backpacking with weighted loads in any kind of terrain. They're a little pricey (about $200) but well worth it. They last longer than you will.
