A great pair of leather mountaineering boots. I have a "C" width foot and this boot fits me perfectly. I have heard complaints from folks with wider feet but for my foot they're great. These are stiff boots but I can use them for heavy winter backpacking trips as well. These boots have a cork footbed (like an expensive dress shoe) that get better with each wear. I would recommend these for any mountaineering trip other than a long trip on a sloppy glacier or trip such as Denali where extreme cold is a factor. These are very nimble boots for mixed terrain and with a pair of Sabretooth crampons mine are wonderful. They're performed well ice climbing, on various mountains (Cascades and Mexico) and also for long backpacking trips. Can't say enough good things about them.

This is a nice boot, but I don't really have a use for it. If I'm going ice climbing on a nice Alpine route I always grab my plastic doubles! Plus they are too narrow to fit in my snowboard bindings, so I'd have to carry another pair of boots for back country boarding.

Sturdy, heavy duty mountaineering boot that is at times very rigid and uncomfortable on easier terrain. They are waterproof though and are good all-around boots for someone looking into a mountaineering boot.

My girlfriend bought a pair of La Sportiva's and she told me that they are the most comfortable pair of boots she has bought. I do not believe she will ever do wilderness hiking, but I like the style of the La Sportiva's. The boots are a little expensive.
