no but i wish I had. I did not have the patience to stick with an instrument. tried the piano and was awful. I actually admire someone who can stick with an instrument. would have not minded being a "band geek"

Does choir and strings class count?

i thought it would be fun to play in the band so I decided on the clarinet but I really stunk so I would just pretend to play the whole time.

I played in bands throughout my school life, starting with xylophone in elementary, clarinet in junior high, and flute in high school. Geeky? Maybe, but I got a free trip to Disneyland and Seaworld in California out of it.

I started playing trombone in 5th grade, and I played through high school, and in college as well. I still have my trombone, I usually play it a couple of times during the summer with the local community band, but this summer is too busy, I don't think it will happen this year.

Ahh, band. I played the trombone and we even won some trophies and crap...
