Burnett's departure from the Bush administration today isn't exactly shocking--he wasn't very high up, and was always a Democrat anyway--but the speed of his move to the Obama campaign is certainly worthy of garnering some headlines. Most people would, say, wait a couple of weeks, but Burnett said she couldn't wait that long! He certainly had good cause, being upset about Bush's imposing a rule on the EPA rejecting any single state's (in this case California's) attempt to go above the call of duty on emissions legislation. Nothing says Bush like passing laws and then doing everything to block their enforcement. The only thing I regret here is Burnett's decision to campaign back in his home region, Northern California. There are surely places he could be of more use to Obama ...
