Several, most stunningly under a huge dark prairie sky in mid-summer about 10 years back, when they rained down for nearly ten minutes.

I used to sit outside quite frequently to stargaze, so naturally I've seen a few in my lifetime.

Lot's of 'em. The prairie night time sky is perfect for watching for them. Saw a brilliant one last Sunday night driving home from the lake. Made me think about how how many are up there when you consider that you can see dozens of them in your lifetime and yet the sky doesn't seem to be getting any emptier. Oh, and I was high as a kite.
