Growing up I spent alot of summers with my grandparents in the states. They lived on a farm.and My grandfather had cows. Most of the cows always had thier calfs at night. One time though the calf was in a breech position and got stuck..and they even had to call a vet to come out and of course the calf was dead because she was in labor so long and she sat down after the head had already came out and broke its neck. It was the saddest thing I ever saw at that time.I cried for days after that.

yes but not on purpose. I was on a field trip with my son's kindergarten class.{this was quite a few years ago} it was a visit to the farms at a local university. one of the places the kids went to was a barn with cows. we had the good luck of walking in just as an attendant was pulling a calf out of a birthing cow. the kindergarten teacher was freaking out guess she was afraid of what the other parents would say when the five year olds went home and told their parents what they saw. I thought it was cool and by the reactions of the little kids they did not seem the least bit upset. I was glad I got the chance to witness this baby calf being born, I wish our now grown son remembered he was too young.
