Well, not to sound narrow minded, but I would only want to live in a country where English is the primary language. So pretty much Commonwealth countries. I have no interest otherwise. Probably the UK would be on the list, I have dual citizenship w/Canada too but I'm happy in the US.

This is something I used to think about a lot, before University I always thought that one day I'd leave England behind and work in the States, but by the time I left Uni I found I didn't even have to leave Leicester to find the perfect job which in someways is a shame, but I am really happy with where I work. Now these thoughts are replaced by travelling to cool places on holiday and trying to see as much as possible. One day I probably will at least go on holiday to the States, but I'm guessing it will be a couple of years still before that happens.

Yes, I have. It would be nice to live in a country where the government cared for their people, or at least acted like it. Don't get me wrong, I'm proud to be an American. But not exactly thrilled with the American policy right now.

I am in the US. I had thought about moving to Canada. I thought Toronto might be nice. From being a little Mohawk I knew that we were originally from there, they moved there on purpose to get away from the US but then some moved back. They can go back and forth but I can't. It is not that easy to go to Canada. I had been saving my money though. I don't think it would have gone through. I almost cried at the idea of leaving the US so it's probably not a good idea. If I had more money I might go. Actually before I had thought of moving to England for a short time. We are partly English etc. It would be fun to see the different countries. Being part German I could also move there if I could speak German. My other grandparents were native speakers but I didn't learn it. You find afterwards there are ways of going back if you keep up with it. Most people don't. The other side of the family has completely lost track as they did mostly. I would live all over if I could but my favorite would be the US.

I've thought about it only because I am in high energy physics, and the largest particle accelerator in the world is supposed to go online in August, and it is at CERN on the Swiss/French border. At one point I was told that I'd probably have to live there for a year, and am I glad that I won't. I just got back from a short trip there, and basically what I have to say is that France and Switzerland are ridiculously overrated. Everything is too small, and too expensive. Important offices open at 10:00 am, and close at 2:00 pm (14:00 to Europeans). It may be a good place to go for vacations, but as a place to live and work it's a pain in the a**. I've been there twice now, and neither time was very enjoyable.

Yes, there are a couple of countries that I greatly admire. I would like to at least visit them someday.

Sure. I've already lived in another country. Would do it again if the finances are 'right'. . .although missing the NFL would hurt. Probably a low but absolutely real chance of this being a reality for me.

Not only thought about it but briefly did it.
