*5* Stars for "Yes", I was at a Beatles concert at Olympia Stadium in Detroit. *5* Stars for the over-all event. *1* Star if this review was about the music, as it was more than impossible to hear anything during the screamfest. I had read a Rolling Stone article about that night which told about how the crowd was so loud that the sound system was turned off and no one knew the difference. I'm serious...that's how loud the audience was. But, I did see psychotic girls lay down on the pavement in front of the bus after the "concert".
As the bus pulled out, I saw George pull back the curtains to take a look. Or maybe it was Ringo. I dunno.

Well no, since I wasn't at Candlestick Park in August of '66.

No, but I was once reading a book about theBeatles on the bus home from work and a lady siting next to me, who looked to be about the right age and had an accent from the north of England told me that she saw them several times during the period when they would barnstorm around England in between stays in Hambourg. Her stories were quite cute, she said it was before all the screaming and hype when they were just a popular local act. They showed up in a beat up looking van just before showtime and set up with the help of their roadie (who would have been Mal Evans) and would set up with the help of a few local guys, then play their songs, breakdown and drive away.
