Yeah, but in a few cases I had to grow to be about 203 feet tall first.

I do this fairly often. Usually at least once per time I'm on here.I don't see this as particularly "big" though.
MissPackRat4Je sus 09/29/2009
Of course, and I have even given "disagrees" to reviewers I really like, too. All voting, whether "helpful", "agree", "funny", or "disagree" should be given on the basis of the comment itself, not the reviewer. It's only fair.

It does take a tremendous strength of character to click a multiple choice box on a web form while logged in using an screen moniker that can't be traced. I applaud your moral fortitude.
fitman 09/29/2009
I tend to be pretty stingy with Helpful votes, but I rate what I read and don't much care who wrote it.
Same deal with Funny. If a review makes me laugh, it gets a Funny regardless of who authored the joke or whether or not the humour was intentional.

Not only is this true, it brings up a truth that isn't discussed enough. . .there are plenty reviewers (such as me) that barely care about the identity of the reviewer (usually the window is reduced in size because I'm busy with other computer programs and such) thus the actual review is far more relevant than the self-important reviewer. Stupid is stupid and smart is smart. . .most think they're being zapped when they've probably said something quite retarded. . .Stick to the opinion- we're all closet or overt writers anyways. . .our screen personas are exaggerations (of some characteristic) and therefore not worthy of much consideration.

Lots of times. If it's helpful,it's helpful.

Yes I have been that big. And in the grand scheme of things I don't think this would rank up there with one of the bigger things I've done in life.
Gris 08/02/2009
I only know like two reviewers in real Life. Everybody else I don't know, so I don't Feel strongly enough to Hate anybody on here. If someone's review Was well written and helpful then I will give them a Helpful regardless of who they Are.
kamylienne 08/02/2009
I don't think it's a matter of giving someone a "helpful" that you don't like makes you a "big" person so much as it makes someone petty for someone to withhold on a "helpful" click after reading a review you found useful after reading who wrote it.
LadyJesusFan77 7 07/22/2009
I may not agree all the time with some, but there have been times when a certain review will really stand out, written by someone whose reviews I normally don't agree with.
pugwash01 07/11/2008
It's not what you think of a person, cause I sure don't know people well enough on RIA to dislike them personally. But it is what is written determines whether I agree or disagree. There are a few people I find trying because they conflict with my views. But if their view is good on a subject or appealing to my understanding then I will normally check AGREE.
Molfan 07/09/2008
of course. if i find a review helpful I happily give them a mark. I would not resort to not giving a helpful out of spite.
edt4 07/09/2008
I've done it, if I think they're presenting their point if view with at least a modicum of semi-factual information and somewhat logical reasoning. Not often, but it's happened. Then again, if they're parroting verbatim what they've gotten from Rush Limbaugh, or Sean Hannity, or Bill-O, or the Brent Bozell website, or Ann Coulter, or any of the numerous right-wing lunatics and whores pontificating out there for big bucks...then no. It's ok to disagree but at least be somewhat original.
scarletfeather 07/09/2008
Sometimes I do.
ILikePie 07/09/2008
There isn't really anyone that I resent massively, so this doesn't come up too often, but on occasions where someone and I have completely opposing opinions, but they post a good review, I am more than happy to rate it 'helpful'.
Donovan 07/09/2008
I may not agree with someone but I can still admire their review.
