    Uptown 3000 was a Korean American hip hop duo which consisted of Carlos Galvan ( aka "Cali-Mexci") and Steve Kim (aka "Kwon"). The duo was a spinoff of Uptown the Korean hip-hop group which was active in the late 1990's.  They get a one star not because they were not talented or their music wasn't good, but because of the marketing errors the record company made while promoting Uptown 3000.In 2003, their album "Same Book, Different Chapter" was released. However the album sold poorly due to a failed marketing strategy made by the American producers of the album.Seeing that Uptown had sold six million albums in Korea, the producers plan was to market the album in Korea first, hoping that the album would be embraced by fans of the original Uptown, which in turn would give the album more publicity for its release in the United Statess.However, the producers had mistakenly assumed Uptown still had a fan base in Korea when in fact Uptown's popularity had faded considerably if not completely...
