Charles is the third best player from the 1984 NBA Draft (after Michael Jordan and Hakeeem Olajuwon) and as a Top 50 NBA player--and actually a probably Top 15-20 player would have been the best player to emerge from some other draft classes. It was quite a bargain for the Sixers to get him as the number five pick (considering Sam Bowie went No. 2 and Sam Perkins went No. 4) but unforutnately because of many horrible player personnel moves by the Sixers front office, Charles never won a title in Phily and came short in Phoenix and Houston as well. But still one of the finest players selected in the number five spot of the NBA Draft.
