it was by far the singlemost greatest movie of the year. it had great action,great graphics and the actors and actresses and Heath Ledger played the best Joker since Jack Nickolson played it.

Heath Ledger did an excellent job playing as The Joker, however, I don't think this peformance deserves the title of best comic book villain even if most people seem to think so. I don't even think he was the best Joker of all time, for me that still belongs to Jack Nicholson. In some ways, I think Ledger's portrayal of The Joker was almost too dark.

IMO there wasn't enough Heath/Joker in this movie.... RIP Heath.

I must admit he brought the Joker to life in a way we have never seen. Amazingly, he was so young and the Joker is usually a middle-aged villain. I wonder what his preparation for the role was like. The Oscar buzz is indeed warranted. Better than Jack Nicholson? Well, they each have their unique take on the character. But anyone like Ledger who could take a punch from Batman and still laugh maniacally has hit gold in understanding the Joker's psyche and his genius.

I loved him in this character! I miss him. It was so upset when he died in January. He will be missed terribly. Hollywood lost one of the greatest and they were only just starting to see it.

Disturbing. Terrifying. Oscar worthy.

The prime reason behind going to the theater to see this movie was to see Heath Ledger in one of his final roles. I kept hearing on the news around the time of his death that the character of the Joker had driven him to suicide. That he immersed himself so deeply in the troubled and manic mind of the villain that he was trapped there.

I don't know if I believe he committed suicide because of the role. I do believe Heath was a misunderstood young actor. I am so grief stricken to realize that we will never be privy to the greatness that this man would have brought into the world.

The movie was excellent. Enough twists and subtly dark humor to keep me on the edge of my seat...but Heath Ledger stole the show. Batman took a back seat to the Joker and his antics and it was flawless, tragic, beautiful. From the perfectly psychotic laugh down to the voice and the creepy tongue flicker, Heath captured a villain so sinister that is was terrifying but yet eerily humanitarian. His "social experiment" had me crying...as it seemed he was just trying to find out how corrupt the world really was.

I cannot praise him enough for this role. I found myself being sad through the whole movie...knowing that when it ended it would bring a cruel finality to the truth that Heath is no longer in this world. I keep wishing it is all a bad dream and that we will all wake up tomorrow and see that smile that could spark a fire into the dreariest soul just one more time.

Heath Ledger played the Joker in the darkest way imaginable. His performance was impeccable, and the character development began pretty much the moment the film started. I didn't have to suspend disbelief for a moment despite how different his treatment of the role was in relation to most of the other characterizations of the Joker. He was probably the most believable "villain" comic book movies have ever seen.

Heath Ledger brought out THE Joker, not the one you see in the cartoon series who's always clowning around, no this joker is far more serious. If anyone has red marvel or DC comics they would know how scary the REAL joker is. I give heath ledgers perfomance a 100/100 he deserves an award that should be given to his daughter.

His "Why so serious?" gave me goosebumps. I don't know how any actor is going to top the Heath's performance in the next Batman movie.

Heath Ledger as the grundgy Joker in The Dark Knight was terrifyingly good! Ledger's Joker was a quirky and insane sociopath bent on destruction and chaos, and like the great James Dean in Giant, Ledger's final performance was rivetting, much less memorable. Ledger literally captured every scene he was in, and this performance will only make viewers wonder what might have been had this great talent lived (such as James Dean before him). But I wouldn't give the Oscar for Best Supporting actor to Ledger simply because of his unfortunate passing. However, I would give it to him on the strength of his remarkable performance. And based on that, the late heath Ledger may just be a lock.

he's mine and my sis' fave charater! he did such a good job as the joker! i wuz so surprised! me and my sis even wen online and got tons of the joker pics! LOL!

I started to like him about 40 minutes into the movie. personally my favorite Joker was from the YouTube video Batman- Dead End. But he was a lot closer to the Joker than Nicholson was.(as much as I love Nicholson, he should never have played The Joker)

if i could give him a six i would. he sold the movie and made it the best movie of the summer. He wins the oscar for best supporting actor. He makes so you dont know who heath ledger is. He makes the movie. thank god jack nicholson didn't come back. Heath Ledger makes you wanna see this movie a thousand more times, even if you depise batman
