Not as good as the musical, but still consistently entertaining. Besides, Meryl Streep, Julie Walters, herself a two-time Oscar nominee, is a hoot. For all the Harry Potter fans out there: She also plays Ron Weasley's mother in all the films.

I do not understand why one would give one star. I love it so much because I know many songs from the musical and the stars coreograph the scenes so well. Who knew that Pierce Brosnan could sing so well?
People could look at the plot and still like it; the movie is just like the musical play and it kept me smiling. The problems that are affecting America now (though held in Greece) should not always bring down an individual- there should always be happiness.
I will read the book and perhaps see the play soon to see if the movie is just like the other ways the story is portrayed. A definite must watch for any age or any sex!

mamma mia is a horrible movie...it was stupid. i didn't laugh once. it wasn't sad, funny, happy, or anything like that. me and my friends basically ran out of the theater. throughout the movie my friend and i kept giving each other the 'what the heck was that all about' look. at one point in the movie we counted the time between two songs and it was less then a second. most of the acting was bad (actually all of it except meryl streep). i used to like musicals a little, but dream girls and mamma mia have totally ruined that for me. i don't recommend seeing this movie.
