John Lennon's murder was one of the great tragedies in music followed closely by George Harrison eulogizing him with a throw away bit of bouncy pop. The lyric is cobbled together from a rhyming dictionary instead of shining a light on the life and character George's good friend. Maybe its asking too much, but from George I would have thought a tribute to John would be at least a little bit transcendant.

I like the song, but it's not even close to being one of George's best.

Catchy tune, nothing special.

Out of all the Beatles after the break-up, Harrison had what was probably my favorite song out of any of them as solo performers-- "What Is Life", which I still consider a wonderful song. Unfortunately, by the time this song came out, his stuff had pretty much become pop fluff. I know "All Those Years Ago" was a deeply heartfelt tribute to the recently slain Lennon, but it's deeply heartfelt pop fluff.
