Obama is now saying that he wants to speak at a Middle Eastern capital in the first year of his Presidency, primarily as a means to reach out to people of that region. He'll most likely go to Iraq early in his Presidency, but I think he'll likely go to Egypt or perhaps Turkey. If he visits Syria, it'll signal a significant sea change in US-Arab relations. Some Democrats such as Nancy Pelosi may push for such a move. Either way, he better hope that they accept him with open arms like the crowds in Berlin did earlier this year. Otherwise, he might get a few shoes thrown his way, much like his predecessor!!

Middle East as in Pennsylvania?

Nearly a five. But, please don't try and tell me there is no media bias in the US. If the three anchors weren't "in the tank" for Obama before, it will be difficult to explain away their breathless, sappily positive reporting now.

Heres a interview ABC news just did with this bumbling stumbling empty suit. This jerk off is so tied to defeat that he still says he would have voted against the Surge today, even though its been a great success.

Lots of flash but will fade as the real stories of 2008 solidify- the lousy economy and the presidential campaign. True, this recent story has to do with the campaign- but this story will become one of the cogs in the greater campaign 'story' as the Fall approaches. As of today, the rumors around DC are not what I expected. Some said "Obama should come home now." I asked why due to the recent political victories. "Because it's going so perfectly there's nowhere to do but down- get out while it's perfect." Interesting. As for the real or imagined media bias- it does exist. There is a bias for an articulate and charismatic person with interesting things to say- and it's been quite some time since that's been a reality in a presidential campaign.

I think its great that a Presidential nominee took a trip to an area which is so critical to our country's current situation. However, I don't want this trip to become some sort of justification that Obama is now a foreign relations expert. This is a good step for Obama, but it still doesn't mean that he will make the best decisions regarding the Middle East if he is elected President.
