I guess it works, but I think that the use of the term "friends" is best left to myspace and facebook.

It took me a couple of years to realize that this is a site for Quakers...my bad.

Although I'm quite chummy with a few of them, I'm not sure that I'd count any of them (other than those I've actually met) as real friends. Although, I'm not sure I like a lot of my MySpace friends... I'd consider myself closer to some of the members I'm chummy with on here than I would with some of the random 15-year-old girls who add me on MySpace because they want to boost their friend count...

friends works on other sites just fine.  I don't originally add someone to my trusted network to be friends but that usually over time is what ends up happening.  Some of the people from here are also friends on  Facebook and/or MySpace.

I'm okay with friends, too.

Friends has a nice ring to it. It's short and to the point.

Seems a little FaceBook-y to me and althought I've never been on FaceBook, I'm sick of it.

As far as I'm concerned "friends" are people I've actually met. I can see the appeal though.

A bit too personal. I won't call anyone here a friend unless we start a periodical exchange with each other, and it will have to be something more personal than knowing how much we both hate Science Diet.

This seems to take RIA closer and closer to being a Facebook or MySpace rip off. Although at times some seem to treat it this way, I don't think the point of the website is to just come on and collect friends. I agree with others that friends usually applies to people who I've actually met.

It makes me think of that stupid show...

This is used on a lot of social networking sites
