I like the river concept and the ability to create your own personal river. However you are right that the name gets a "WTF?" reaction.

Wait, hear me out. The concept of a river of reviews is a little new agey but it doesn't mean it sucks. Here's the thinking:I think most of us regulars can agree that the Recent Reviews page is the best page on the site. This page flows like a river - new reviews show up at the top of the river, and then flow on past as new stuff pushes them downstream. I'd like to make this page more central to the core experience of the site, and provide the tools for each RIA'er to customize what their river of reviews looks like. How might they do that? One obvious tool would be to use what is today called "the trusted network" to determine whose reviews shows up in your river of reviews. Of course, there would be an easy toggle to see the "universal river" which include everybody, Internet wide, who was using RIA's ratings engine. So when I talk about the folks whose reviews I'm interested being "my river," this is what I mean. I'm not sold that that the term "river" fits - it's a vague term that would probably confuse new users. But I am sold that the river format is a cool way to consume content.
